I'malreadythere Trying for First Stakes Win in $100,000 Zuma Beach Stakes
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the track will host the $100,000 Zuma Beach Stakes. Restricted to two-year-olds, the race is carded at one mile on the turf and has attracted a field of ten colts and geldings.
I’malreadythere has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. A bay son of Crown of Thorns, he has been on the board in two of his three starts. After a fourth-place finish in his debut, he broke his maiden in his second start and took on stakes company for the first time in his last start and finished third in the Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes. Mike Smith will be in the irons and they will break from post position seven.
Dressed in Hermes looking for first career win
Second choice at morning line odds of 3-1 is Dressed in Hermes for trainer Janet Armstrong. Bred and owned by Budget Stables, the gelded son of Hat Trick (JPN) will be trying to earn his first career victory. He finished fourth in his debut and was last seen finishing third in a maiden race at Del Mar in August. He has been training forwardly since then and will have jockey Gary Stevens aboard from post position nine.
First start on turf for Mighty Moses
Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Mighty Moses, one of two horses in the race for trainer Bob Baffert. A chestnut son of Candy Ride (ARG) owned by Zayat Stables, he is another contender who is trying to break his maiden against stakes competition. He made his debut last time out at Los Alamitos on the main track and finished second. He swill switch surfaces and have Martin Garcia aboard from post six.
