On Saturday at Fair Grounds, the stakes action will continue with the $50,000 Tiffany Lass Stakes. Restricted to fillies and mares, the mile and seventy yard contest has drawn a field of ten.
Cash Control, one of two fillies in the race for trainer Brad Cox, tops the field as the favorite at odds of 3-1 on the morning line. A four-year-old daughter of Pioneerof the Nile, the bay filly has been on the board in seven of her nine starts and is a five-time winner. She is trying to earn her first black type victory and is coming into this race off of back to back wins against optional claiming competition at Churchill Downs. Shaun Bridgmohan will be aboard and they will break from post position nine.

Second choice at morning line odds of 9-2 is Please Explain for trainer Tom Proctor. A four-year-old daughter of Curlin, the dark bay filly has been on the board in ten of her sixteen outings and has four victories, including a stakes win as a three-year-old. She was last seen finishing third behind Cash Control at in an optional claiming race. Florent Geroux will be aboard and they will break from post position four.
Sweet Basil trying to return to form
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Sweet Basil for trainer Edward Johnston. A four-year-old daughter of Pulpit, she has hit the board in six of her eleven starts and is a minor stakes winner. She is trying to rebound off of a pair of poor performances and was sixth in her most recent start against optional claiming company. Robby Albarado will be aboard and they will break from post position eight.
