On Wednesday at Gulfstream Park, the featured race is the $60,000 Cutler Bay Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the race will be contested at one mile on the turf and has drawn a field of nine colts and geldings.
Comfort has been tabbed as the morning line favorite in the wide open field at odds of 2-1 for trainer Todd Pletcher. A bay son of Indian Charlie, he will be making his first start for Pletcher after being privately purchased by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners after breaking his maiden in his third start last time out. Though he broke his maiden on dirt, he is switching back to turf and will break from post position seven under jockey Edgard Zayas.
Force the Pass making stakes debut
Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is Force the Pass for trainer Alan Goldberg. A chestnut son of Speightstown, he will be making his stakes debut after breaking his maiden in his second career start last time out. He defeated a field of eleven rivals as the even-money favorite on the grass at Gulfstream by one-length. Rajiv Maragh will be back aboard and they will break from post positon eight.
Call Me Crazy back in stakes ranks after troubled trip
Also in the field at morning line odds of 7-2 is Call Me Crazy for trainer Kathy Ritvo. A bay son of Lemon Drop Kid, he has been on the board in four of his seven starts and is trying to earn his second career victory. He was last seen finishing fourth after a rough trip in the Palm Beach Stakes (G3 ) at Gulfstream Park. Rafael Hernandez will be in the irons and they will break from post position five.
