$150,000 Beaugay Stakes Draws Field of Seven
Christophe Clement will saddle Discreet Marq as the favorite at odds of 2-1 on the morning line. A five-year-old daughter of Discreet Cat, she has been on the board in sixteen of her twenty starts and has seven victories. She has been on the shelf since finishing third in the Matriarch (G1) at Del Mar in November and has been training steadily for her return to the races. John Velazquez will be in the irons and they will break from the outside post.
J Wonder making second stateside start
Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is J Wonder for trainer Claude McGaughey, III. A four-year-old daughter of Footstepsinthesand (GB), she has won four of her nine starts and made her North American debut in April at Keeneland with a third-place finish. She will be trying to earn the first graded stakes victory of her career and is scheduled to break from the inside post under jockey Javier Castellano.
Testa Rossi (FR) trying to bounce back to form
Also in the field at morning line odds of 6-1 is Testa Rossi (FR) for trainer Chad Brown. A four-year-old daughter of Dr. Fong, she has won six of her twelve starts and is trying to rebound after finishing fourth in the Santa Ana Stakes (G2) in March. She has been training steadily since that race and will break from post position six under jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. as she goes for her second victory of the year.
