On Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs, the track will host the $100,000 Gasparilla Stakes. Restricted to two-year-old fillies, the race will be run at seven-furlongs on the main track and has drawn a field of ten.

A.P.’s Glory has been installed as the morning line favorite at 3-1 on the morning line and will be putting her two-race win streak on the line. Trained by James DiVito, the dark bay daughter of Mineshaft is a homebred for owner Curtis Green. After breaking her maiden as the heavy favorite at Arlington, she came back to win the Mountaineer Juvenile Fillies Stakes over ten rivals. Rosemary Homeister, Jr. will be back aboard and they will break from post five.

Huasca making stakes debut after maiden score

Second choice at 4-1 on the morning line is Huasca for trainer Efren Loza, Jr. A gray daughter of Tiz Wonderful bred and owned by St. George Stable, she will be making her stakes debut and trying winners for the first time after a winning debut effort at Gulfstream Park West. Since that maiden score in October, she has been training forwardly at Gulfstream Park West and will have Fernando Jara in the irons from post position two.

Stakes winner R Sassy Lass going for three in a row

Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is R Sassy Lass for trainer Kirk Ziadie. Winner of the Sandpiper Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in her most recent start, the dark bay daughter of Exclusive Quality will try to make it three consecutive victories. She broke her maiden two starts back in for a claiming tag as the heavy favorite. Antonio Gallardo, aboard last time out, has retained the mount and they will break from post position seven.
