$100,000 Doubledogdare Stakes Draws Competitive Field of Nine
On Friday at Keeneland, the featured race is the $100,000 Doubledogdare Stakes. A Grade 3 event carded at a mile and a sixteenth on the main track, the race has drawn a field of nine fillies and mares.
Bill Mott will saddle the favorite, My Miss Sophia, at odds of 2-1 on the morning line. Joel Rosario will be aboard from post position eight.
Deceptive Vision a threat on any surface
Deceptive Vision has been tabbed as the second choice at morning line odds of 5-2 for Malcolm Pierce. Bred and owned by Canadian powerhouse Sam-Son Farm, the five-year-old daughter of A.P. Indy is switching back to the main track after racing on the turf for all of last year. She has been on the board in all eight starts and has four victories to her credit. John Velazquez will be aboard for her seasonal debut and they will break from post three.
Tiz Windy trying to return to winning form
Also in the field at morning line odds of 5-1 is Tiz Windy for trainer Carl Nafzger. A four-year-old daughter of Tiznow is a homebred for owner Jim Tafel and she will be trying to earn the second graded stakes victory of her career. She has won four of her thirteen outings and is trying to move forward after finishing fifth in the Royal Delta Stakes (G2) last time out. Julian Leparoux has the mount and they will break from the outside post.
